Meet The Doctors

Dr. Karson Howard

Dr. Karson Howard

Dr. Karson Howard, DPM was born here in Pocatello on a summer’s night. He grew up just outside of town with random chores like feeding the cows and mowing the lawn. Growing up was a fun time filled with many Saturdays at Pebble Creek in the winter and many summer days out on the lake. He took classical guitar lessons from 9th-12th grade, and still continues to love playing music.

In 2000, Karson graduated as the first class of Century High School. He then left that summer for Honduras to serve as a missionary for the LDS church. When he returned, he began his undergraduate training at ISU. There his wife fell in love with him, watching his crazy good racquetball skills. So he decided to fall in love with her as well. After only a few months of being married they moved together to California where he attended the California School of Podiatric Medicine for four years.

After he graduated, Dr Howard moved to Chicago, IL for his surgical residency at Mt Sinai Medical Center, a level I trauma center. He now has been practicing with his father since 2011 and joined with his brother in law Adam Matthews, DPM in 2012. He enjoys his time at home with his small young family. Karson currently serves as Vice President for the Idaho Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Karson Howard is Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle surgery.

He has also served on the Idaho Board of Licensing for Podiatric medicine. He currently represents Idaho as the delegate for Podiatry. Dr. Kert Howard also expands his services to humanitarian causes. He has been to Peru on a medical mission. He has helped donate an anesthesia machine to the much-needed area of Honduras. He just recently joined Idaho hometown heroes and spent two weeks in Nepal after the tragic earthquake.

Dr. Kert Howard has been practicing medicine in Southeast Idaho since 1977 and still going strong!

Dr. Adam Matthews

Dr. Adam Matthews

Dr. Matthews grew up in the small town of Paris, Idaho. In 1998 he graduated from Bear Lake High School with honors and earned the Eagle Scout Award. Dr. Matthews attended Idaho State University on a track and field scholarship. He served an LDS mission in Canada.

He graduated from ISU in 2005 with a BS in Zoology. While in Pocatello he met and married his beautiful wife Krista Howard and through her father, Dr. Kert Howard, was introduced to the wonderful profession of podiatry.

After they were married they moved to Chicago to attend the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine where he earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine. He then completed his surgical residency at the Mt Sinai Medical Center. Mt Sinai provided an intense training in treatment for foot and ankle trauma and pathology.

Dr. Matthews and his wife’s time in Chicago was very productive; they had three wonderful children Andee, Brock, and Livvy. Currently, Dr. Matthews is living in Pocatello, Idaho and has added one more to his clan, little Blaise. Dr. Matthews loves being a podiatrist and feels his profession is one that can immediately provide relief from debilitating pain.
